You can DOWNLOAD your free trial of Bounce Metronome Pro to play any of these metronomes endlessly, vary the tempo, adjust the time signatures, and make more of your own. You can also use the Metronome for Rhythms and Polyrhythms feature in Tune Smithy - but Bounce Metronome Pro is at present more up to date at version 3.2, so has capabilities that FTS doesn't yet have.
These clips show examples of the various types of time signature (wikipedia article). Bounce Metronome Pro can play all these rhythms, also the so called "irrational" meters mixing e.g. 3/6, 3/10 etc.
The program is easy to use, and suitable for a beginner learning simple time signatures. It includes some neat options such as the option to automatically vary the tempo. This can be used to slowly speed up or slow down the metronome so you learn to play gradual tempo transitions (ritardandos and accelerandos) in a smooth fashion.
Also it has options to vary the timing and volume of the individual beats in the bar, which can help a beginner to learn to play more organically and less "metronomically". These time and volume varying options can also be used to play rhythms with swing, syncopated rhythms and so forth.
Yet it has all the capabilities a composer or a performer might want for the most demanding situations. For instance it can play one time signature for so many bars, then another time signature, so you could make a metronome for a complex passage with any changes of time signature including irrational meters, long bars and polyrhythms.
You can also use it to explore rhythms that are tough for any performers, or next to impossible, such as polyrhythmic "irrational" meters and truly irrational meters involving PI etc.
